POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Art Director position is responsible for assisting the Art Director in the concepts and layouts and designs of all assigned creative projects, as well as maintaining the production schedule.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

* Conceptualization, layout and production of assigned creative projects
* Working with the Buyers to ensure merchandise is correctly advertised
* Photo Art Direct assigned still and fashion shoots
* Work with Photo Studio Manager to ensure correct merchandise and colors for art notes are indicated on layouts

* Provide and execute ideas for still sets and propping
* Working with Creative and production team to ensure deadlines are met
* Attend all pertinent turn-in meetings
* Manage the designers in AD's
* absence

Qualifications and competencies:

* Posess a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a retail or catalog environment
* Posess a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (strongly preferred)
* Prior experience using In-Design to layout and produce projects and catalogs
* Prior experience using Photoshop to scan and manipulate film
* Prior experience using Freehand and/or Illustrator to create and produce artwork
* Posess basic knowledge of Web Design and HTML
* Posess and project a positive attitude
* Posess the ability to work in a team environment with an understanding of workflow in the creative process as well as the printing process

* Photo Art Direction experience a plus
