To show that the Geek My Ride Lexus actually had a functioning Final Cut Pro Editing Suite, we ran a contest at Macworld Boston 2004, where the contestants had to edit their Macworld-themed entry completely in the car.
The contest rules:
- 50% of the footage has to be from Macworld
- All editing has to be done in the car from raw footage
- Each contestant has 90 minutes to edit in the car
- Winners awarded based on originality, entertainment value, and technical skill
And the winners are:
1st Place: Arnon Shorr of OxRock Productions, who won a LaCie 250GB Firewire 400/800 drive
2nd Place: Paul Boggs from Virginia, who won a Brenthaven bag of his choice
3rd Place: Ross Paffett of Paffett Productions, who won a Tech Superpowers limited edition baseball cap
Honorable Mention: Max Lewontin for youngest Final Cut Pro Editor (12 years old), who won a Tech Superpowers T-shirt
Steve Garfield, from the Boston Final Cut Pro Users group did two as well.
